"Working with Tessa was one of the best investments I've made as a campus principal. She has a remarkable ability to walk alongside leaders and teachers in a way that is both encouraging and challenging. I never felt like she was coming in to "fix" our campus—instead, she became a true thought partner who helped us identify our strengths, tackle our challenges, and build sustainable systems that improved teaching and learning through coaching conversations.
What I appreciated most was how well she listened. She took the time to understand our campus, our staff, our students, and our goals before offering support. Her coaching was always practical, relevant, and grounded in what would make the biggest difference for our students. She has a gift for asking the right questions, helping me think differently, and empowering teachers to grow in their confidence and practice. And her most amazing gift is knowing when to ask questions, which questions to ask, and when to support in other ways. Sometimes coaching me through questions was not beneficial. Getting to know me personally and understanding my campus's needs to move us in the right direction made a huge difference in my growth and my ability to make sustainable improvements to our campus.
Beyond her expertise, she genuinely cares about the people she serves. Our staff trusted her because they knew she was invested in their success and the success of students, and that made all the difference. She celebrates wins, provides honest feedback with kindness, and inspires others to believe they can achieve more than they thought possible.
I can confidently say our campus became stronger because of her partnership. I would recommend her without hesitation to any school or district looking for authentic, high-impact instructional coaching and leadership support.

"I had the privilege of working with Tessa for more than eight years in a variety of leadership capacities, and her impact on my professional growth has been invaluable. Through her mentorship and training, I developed the confidence to navigate difficult conversations with clarity and purpose, gained deeper insight into working effectively with diverse personalities and leadership styles, and strengthened my ability to reflect on my own leadership approach.

Coaching helps leaders understand both themselves and others, creating meaningful growth that extends far beyond the workplace. Intentional self-reflection and aligned communication create a foundation for accountability, enabling teams and individuals to take ownership, build trust, and achieve stronger results together. Tessa’s guidance equipped me with practical skills, greater self-awareness, and the confidence to lead with authenticity and effectiveness. I highly recommend Tessa and her leadership consulting services to anyone looking to grow as a leader and build stronger, more impactful relationships within their organization."

"My name is Patricia Sanchez, and I believe that one of the most important things we can give children is a quality education so they can become successful professionals in the future. That is why I chose to become a teacher. Many people say teaching is a difficult profession, but for me, it is a passion because I truly love working with children. I believe that every child has a unique way of learning, and it is our responsibility as teachers to help them succeed.
My journey to becoming a teacher has not been easy. I graduated from the University of
Houston–Victoria in 2020 with a bachelor's degree in education. The only step I had left was passing my certification exams. I spent countless hours studying with colleagues and private tutors to prepare for the Pedagogy and Professional Responsibilities (PPR) exam. Unfortunately, despite my hard work, I did not pass the exam.

On August 1, 2023, I met Tessa Cain, who became my instructional coach. I remember feeling nervous about becoming a classroom teacher. Tessa immediately reassured me by saying, "Don't worry—you'll be fine."  Those simple words gave me confidence when I needed it most.

Tessa has been an incredible mentor and coach. She helped me build the skills and confidence I needed to make my dream of teaching a reality. During my first three years of teaching, she guided me every step of the way. She regularly visited my classroom, offered helpful ideas on instruction and classroom organization, and provided meaningful feedback that helped me grow
as an educator.

More importantly, Tessa was always there to support me. She frequently asked how she could help, whether it was with lesson planning, classroom management, or any challenge I faced as a new teacher. Every time I see her, she reminds me, "Don't give up. You can do it."  Those words have stayed with me and continue to motivate me whenever I face obstacles.

I am incredibly grateful to have Tessa in my life. Her encouragement, guidance, and belief in me have made a lasting impact on my career and personal growth. She is not only an amazing coach but also an amazing person, and I truly appreciate everything she has done to help me become the teacher I am today."

Frequent Asked Questions

Whether you are a leader navigating a challenge or an individual ready for reinvention, clarity is the first step. Find everything you need to know about my coaching philosophy and services below.

What I Help People Do

My goal is to support each individual exactly where they are — in their thinking, choices, patterns, and behaviors. I help you reflect on your past, understand your present, and clarify your future goals and vision. This work is not about me telling you what to do. It’s about guiding you to address the concerns or barriers that are holding you back so you can move forward with confidence.

This process is centered on you. Your growth. Your decisions. Your willingness to take ownership of your life.

As my mother used to tell me, “Tessa, if you are so unhappy, the only person who can change that is you. What are you going to do?”

That message shaped my belief that transformation begins with personal responsibility — and that when individuals grow, organizations transform.
